Bike Fitting

What is bike fitting?

  • An experienced bike fitter making an assessment of you and your bike. Then setting up your bike using manual tools to allow you to get the most out of it when riding.
  • The end result is a well fitting bike that becomes one with you.
  • This is a manual and hands-on process that is all about you, your bike, and the bike fitter (Andy or Dave).
  • It is a non-computerised process, it’s all about the bike!
  • The 5 stages of a bike fit

    1. PRE-FIT INTERVIEW

A Body Geometry Fit specialist will talk with you about your riding experience, goals, lifestyle, concerns and injury history.

    2. PHYSICAL ANALYSIS

During the physical assessment process the fit specialist will analyse your body to gain knowledge of your strengths, weaknesses and limitations aswell as assessing any leg length discrepancy.

    3. RIDE ANALYSIS

Your fitter will visually assess your position on the bike while you ride, and adjust accordingly in order to determine the best and most efficient ride position for you.

    4. TECHNOLOGY

In select Body Geometry Fit studios, fitters may document and analise your riding position with 3D motion capture or Video Capture technology systems, so you can see what they’re seeing and more easily share the reports or videos.

    5. FOLLOW UP

The fitter will be in contact with you post fitting to discuss how you are adapting to the changes made to your position. The fitter will also book you a follow-up appointment once you have adapted to the changes that were made.

How will you benefit from a bike fit?

To get the best riding experience each rider needs to find their unique active riding position, which will allow you to climb faster, descend more confidently and ride further with less fatigue. This is achieved by working with a trained bike fitting specialist who has a complete understanding of your biomechanics and experience. To get a full understanding of how you ride, our bike fitting specialists will ask you about your riding experience and lifestyle as well as goals, current concerns and previous injury history. A physical assessment will be carried out which is then followed by a thorough on bike analysis, where the fitter will make adjustments to your bike to make effective change to your position whilst you are pedalling in turbo trainer or on our Retül Muve bike. The fitter will be in contact with you post fitting to discuss how you are adapting to the changes made to your position. The fitter will also book you a follow-up appointment once you have adapted to the changes that were made.
